Although probably all now too late, I wrote this for you.

That's pretty much how I do it in Adelaide. Never really used the GPS points, though.

Sorry for the late reply. Thanks waynemacdougall for all your help. Editing a lot easier with all of the tips and a little practice, and turning off the restricted turns layer with its persistent arrows. Now spending far too many hours fixing one little thing, then the next, and the next...

Topic Hijack? Maybe, but not sure where else to put it as I'm not sure if this is a "local" issue possibly affecting other AUS users.

As some may have noticed (B-rockB) I have been wazing my A55 off, especially in the past week. Funny thing is none of my new road track logs or activity for that matter has appeared in my archive and none of it is showing up in cartouche - nothing since Tuesday. While I've been driving I have been in and out of coverage. I've watched the data counter and this has been ticking over so there is data going somewhere. Is anyone else sufferring in this way or is it just me?

...further confuzzling stuff.. my twitter account is being updated with reports and cupcake munches too :?

I had a week's worth turn up today. Assume it's similar for you too.

Not sure how much damage I'm causing, but I just want to be able to drive home from Dickson, Canberra to Isabella Plains, Canberra.

So I've added a bunch of new segments for Drakeford Drive (southbound), tried adjusting the geometry and getting intersections right. Marked a couple of stray road segments for deletion, added a segment or two in to join the two carriageways. So now from what I can tell you can turn left from Drakeford Drive onto Sulwood Drive, right onto Namatjira Street. Then further down you can actually drive from Tuggeranong Parkway/Drakeford Drive past Sulwood Drive to Athllon Drive and Isabella Drive, all the way down to Noorooma Street.

You can also turn left off Drakeford Drive to Isabella Drive ... which is where I got to the roundabout on Isabella Drive where it meets Clive Steele Avenue/Drumston Street. I'm pretty sure I've messed that up royally - though I have to confess that the roundabout was just plain missing from the live map in the first place, which is why I was driven to attempt editing it.

So between my FUBAR on the Isabella Plains roundabout and stuffing around with Noorooma Street, I still can't get home. At least Drakeford Drive connects to Noorooma Street, which connects to Ellerstone Avenue, which connects to Galloway Street.

One day, I'll be able to drive from home (Benjee Place) to work (Dickson) using Waze's navigation. And then my work will be complete :P

Good on you for having a go Bunyip!

I'm not sure if a dedicated Wazer's work will ever be complete. As your mapping and corrections start to tidy your home to work run you'll likely start working on detours, sidestreets and other out of the ordinary journeys. Don't stress about the suff ups - I've done a few of them and ended up deleting the roads completely but with a plan to come back and edit them properly with the benefit of hindsight and in reflection I'm glad I stuffed up roads that I was familiar with and have been able to correct. Do what you can when you can and don't forget to PING me when you see me in your 'hood.

And now I have to wait for something to happen? AM to approve the edits? Waze server to re-merge road lines?

Edits don't require further approval but changes you make will take a few days to appear on your mobile device.

Yup, just read in the Area Manager FAQ that edits will take a few days, deletes will take a similar amount of time after the Area Manager has approved them.

I shall make a point of driving to work a different route each day for this week. I live in Isabella Plains, so the basic routes for me to get to Dickson are Tuggeranong Pkwy, Adelaide Ave or Monaro Highway. Plenty of mapping to do in my copious free time :)
