I'd like to see the % of Wazers on iOS vs. Android. iOS currently has no viable TTS enabled navigation application included with the OS where Android comes pre-loaded with Google Navigation. So iOS users are more actively searching for a TTS enabled navigation application to install and use.
I would expect that the % of Wazers using iOS is higher than Android (I could be wrong). If this is the case, it makes sense that Waze is prioritizing development and enhancements of their iOS version if that is where the majority of their users are.
Perlin, can Waze share the approximate % of users on each mobile platform? iOS, Android as well as the legacy Symbian, Windows Mobile, and BlackBerry platforms.
Here is a shot in the dark estimate based on what I have been reading on mobile OS market shares and the above assumptions:
iOS - 65%
Android - 30%
BlackBerry - 2%
Symbian - 2%
Windows Mobile - 1%
Why would I even guess? To give Waze the incentive to release this info to correct it
