Thats a must in feature. Gas pricing for each gas station and an extra mode to search for it and gas stations on the route and x km/mile off the route.

There are dedicated gas price apps and websites that can't even do this right. I say leave it to them to figure out and concentrate on getting things right with Waze that are buggy/inconsistent.

I totally agree with this :)

edit: besides, who is going to add all the data everyday as the gas prices changes per day?

who is going to add traffic jams, speed cams, hazards.........as these change every hour

to make it a great social app it must offer great features. I don't know any app for WM for gas pricing and anyway, I hate to have like 20 apps for every little thing. it would be so "easy" and great to have ONE app giving me all what I need for my driving

no goals no achievement

To make it a great app, it will need to fix the current problems first and they have a hard time getting that done right. Why add something like this if the first features cannot be fully build yet?

It has nothing to do with no goals or no achievement, but everything with possibilities. It is simply not possible to do something like you said. You will need thousands of people entering that data for people all around the world. Just imagine how many gas stations are around on the world.. Waze is not able to get every traffic jam out there into the app, lots of roads are not correct yet, millions of housenumbers are not in the system yet, so what makes you believe we are able to get data from all those milions of gas stations every minute of the day? It has to be entered by volunteers, the gas stations will not help with this.. I know this for a fact as I recently read an article in where they did a survey amongst gas stations and in it they stated they would not be doing such activities.

I agree, it would be cool to have but be realistic, it is simply not possible as how things are now.

I think it´s a very good idea, when you stop at the gas station, you can update the prices while refueling (far less dangerous than introducing alerts while driving).

Trying to map the world from zero, as waze is trying is not a good idea. You will need thousands of people entering that data for people all around the world, and that data is unnaccurate, so you have then to edit it, add intersections, ways, street names and so on.. and tha Information is yet avaliable for free at http://www.openstreetmap.org/ (for example)

I think there are good things waze should conceentrate in, rather than map the world.
Waze´s biggest weapon is real time information provided by users for the users.

That's slightly off-topic and has been discussed before. Waze wants their own maps so they can sell them to pay the developers (or at least keep that option open). Openstreetmaps = GPL license

sorry for continuing on the off-topic but it's fun lol

Amazing concept, isn't it? You let people work for you, for nothing (or almost nothing as we get to use the app for free), and sell the end product to pay others from that money

This "amazing concept" has a name: Crowdsourcing!
Let other people do bits of work in return for small (virtual) rewards, status in a community or as a competition.
